Language requirements

As a rule, classes at the Friedrich-Alexander University are held in German. Without a good level of German it is not possible to study successfully at the University. If you are a student on an exchange or scholarship programme then you will not be required to submit a certificate of competence in German (the DSH Test / Testdaf / ZDAF) but you will be required to prove you complete the Level A2 of the European Reference Frame or otherwise you can not be admitted to the university. A sufficient level of competence in German may be proved by means of copies of school certificates, transcripts of records from your own university at home, or by certificates from language schools or from German language teachers at your home university.
