Major Research Areas
FAU claims leadership in a number of research topics. It has established a continuous, dynamic process of identifying major research areas of university-wide importance, as documented by the number of participants (minimum 30 professors), third-party funding, the scientific impact and the international reputation. The current eight such Major Research Areas cover all possible stages, from established to upcoming. All include excellent researchers who have been instrumental in the dynamic development of these Research Areas.
