FAU offers a variety of services to support its researchers in the application for both state research funding and third-party funds. The Research Support Office, called F1, provides advice on all questions concerning the promotion and funding of research.

The Research Office constitutes a service institution open to all members of the university who are interested in programmes on the promotion of research or who conduct third-party funded projects. Moreover, the Support Office provides information to all university institutions interested in research.
