In order to meet the rising demand of the international academic community, the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, just as many other German institutions of higher education, has started offering degree courses taught in English. Attending these courses will not require extensive knowledge of German as an admission prerequisite. It is, however, necessary to learn some German in order to ensure integration into the host country and this is the reason why German language classes are offered for international students in particular.
