Master courses at FAU
Masters courses generally last four semesters. They have a modular structure and exams are taken over the course of the programme of study. A Masters dissertation is written during the last semester, generally subject to a 6 month time limit. A university Masters degree is of at least the same level as the former Diploma and, in principle, entitles you to conduct doctoral studies.
The essential pre-condition to acceptance onto a Masters course is a good pass in a corresponding Bachelors course (minimum grade: 2.5). In all cases, two general access conditions apply: your degree must be of equivalent content and fulfil our quality requirements. Applicant access conditions and selection procedures can vary widely from subject to subject. The Masters course examination regulations are set out the applicable registration conditions for each course. If you have any questions on FAU Masters courses, please contact the Information and Advice Centre.
