The FAUcard is the multifunctional smartcard of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU).
These pages contain all there is to know about the FAUcard: what you can do with it, which data are stored on it, where to get it, how to add your semester validity/period of employment to the rewritable grey strip on the front of the card and how to update it, and what to do if you lose the card and need to get a new one.

Note on first-time use
When using the electronic purse for the first time at the start of a new semester, students may see payment stations and copiers display the message "Karte ungültig" (invalid card). In this case the FAUcard needs to be inserted into one of Student Service’s cash-to-chip machines once. After this, the electronic purse is ready to use again.
