The University of Erlangen-Nuremberg is the second largest in Bavaria
and is of major significance both for the local area and far beyond. Erlangen
University Hospital is at the very forefront of international medical research
and also plays an integral part in the provision of patient care in the
region.
Evidence of public trust in what the university has to offer can be seen
in the multitude of foundations and donations, including eight academic
chairs and professorships funded by foundations.
